Welcome to Uppsala International Hub
Uppsala International Hub is a meeting place for international talents and their families. We create networks, activities, and opportunities for people to connect, grow, and feel at home. We also provide guidance on practical matters such as finding housing, work, schools, banks, or understanding Swedish society – all free of charge.
Every year, we welcome over 3,000 international talents and their accompanying partners to Uppsala, and we create more than 150 activities to help them build a life and community here. We are not a recruitment agency, but a bridge between businesses, academia, and the international community – ensuring that Uppsala becomes a place where people and ideas grow together.
Why collaboration matters
A 2018 study revealed that international professionals and their families face several challenges when relocating to Uppsala — from navigating bureaucracy and finding housing, to social integration and language barriers.
One of the most significant insights was that 80% of those who leave Uppsala do so because their partner or family didn’t settle in. When partners feel isolated, without networks or purpose, we risk losing valuable competence. At the same time, language barriers can limit access to opportunities, even for highly skilled professionals fluent in English.
Through collaboration, we can change this. Together, we can create an ecosystem where international professionals and their families want to move, live, and belong.
