Our annual International Potluck – a fun chance to celebrate the cultural diversity of Uppsala through the joy of food!
Come hang out, try some tasty dishes, and share your own favorite food, whether it’s something from your culture (Swedish foodies are also welcome!), a family recipe, or just a dish you really enjoy.
HOW IT WORKS:
Everyone brings a dish or snack to share. It can be homemade or store-bought – no pressure! We’ll have standard plates, cutlery, and soft beverages ready for you, and there’ll be a microwave if you need to heat something up.
The idea is to connect through food, stories, and shared experiences. And yes – the event is open to the public, so go ahead and invite your friends who might also want to share a dish.
Although not a requirement, we encourage participants to show up in traditional clothing or wear an accessory that represents their culture. It’s a great way to showcase who you are and where you’re from – and it makes the event even more colorful and fun!
NOT A CHEF? NO WORRIES!
Whether you’re bringing grandma’s famous curry or a bag of your favorite crisps, we’d love to have you contribute. It’s all about trying new things, swapping stories, and enjoying good vibes together.

In the lead-up to the event, we’d like to share profiles of some of our amazing participants on our social media channels. Want to be featured? Let us know when you sign up!
To help everyone enjoy the food spread safely, we’re asking each participant to send us a list of active ingredients in their dish ahead of time. We’ll print and display them next to each item so everyone knows what’s in what.
With that said, since the food is prepared by external parties, Uppsala International Hub cannot guarantee that they will be free from allergens or will be specific dietary requirements. Attendees are solely responsible for their own food choices and consumption, and we assume no liability for any allergic reactions or dietary-related issues that may occur - just something to keep in mind when filling your own plate.
