Let's Do Uppsala's Historical Christmas Market Together

Time: 13:00-14:30

Location: Meeting spot by the entrance of the Uppsala Cathedral (Domkyrkoplan, 753 10 Uppsala)

This is a casual, come-as-you-are gathering, not a guided tour and not a structured program. It is simply a friendly walk around the Uppsala Historical Christmas Market with other internationals who want to enjoy the festive atmosphere together. You are free to come and go as you please, drift between stalls, or reappear mysteriously holding a newly purchased wool hat.

At 14:30, anyone who wants to is welcome to join us for an optional fika at a nearby café. Warm drinks, pastries, and the shared joy of thawing out your fingers are all included.

What we plan to do:

- Stroll through the Christmas Market as a relaxed group of humans who enjoy twinkly lights and good company.

- Navigate the market like seasoned locals, including the part where we pretend we are not freezing.

- Introduce ourselves to other internationals so we have someone to debate the correct roasting technique for marshmallows.

- Share insider tips on where to find the best wool socks, handcrafted gifts, and misshapen gingerbread we can call "modern art."

- Attend the Elf Workshop so we can craft something adorable or gloriously misshapen (again).

- Watch choir performances and try to identify that one off-key singer (because there's always one, right?).

What we plan not to do (unless we feel like it):

- Stop each other from buying wool products we will never use but feel spiritually connected to.

- Intervene if someone attempts to grill 12 marshmallows at once.

- Translate every Christmas carol, although we might whisper, “This one is about a goat,” at key moments.

- Pretend we do not also get emotional when the choirs sing beside the cathedral glow.

- Stop each other from creating a very interpretive paper ornament.

- Take responsibility if some of us wander off and end up in an impromptu folk-dance circle.

- Offer any scientific PhD-level technicalities for staying warm outdoors in Sweden.
